Amman, persis.or.id - In the midst of the dire condition of Palestinian refugees in Jabal Nadhif Camp, Jordan, PERSIS Peduli began a series of humanitarian distributions by providing 100 food packages on Sunday (11/08/2024).
The PERSIS Peduli team consisting of Heri Sholehuddin (Executive Director of LAZ PERSIS), Ahmad Sofian (Director of Distribution and Empowerment of LAZ PERSIS), and Dr Sonny Ramdani (Social Work Division of PP PERSIS and Chairperson of SIGAB) came directly to greet and deliver aid to the refugees.
Jabal Nadhif Camp, which provides temporary shelter for thousands of Palestinian refugees, faces severe challenges, including overcrowded living conditions and limited access to basic necessities. The refugees here live in uncertainty, far from their homes that have been destroyed by the conflict in Palestine.
Most residents of Jabal Nadhif camp live in difficult economic conditions. Many families depend on assistance from humanitarian organisations, such as UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) and other non-profit organisations. Unemployment and informal employment are very common in this camp, leading to high economic insecurity.
In collaboration with an Indonesian humanitarian team based in Jordan, PERSIS Peduli ensured that the aid was well-targeted and reached those most in need. This aid is the beginning of a series of humanitarian missions that will culminate with the delivery of 4 containers of food aid for the people of Gaza.
"We must not only focus on those in Gaza, but also pay attention to the Palestinian refugees who are now taking refuge in Jordan. They are also victims of Israeli atrocities that we must help," said Heri Sholehuddin, emphasising PERIS Peduli's commitment in this humanitarian mission.
On the same occasion, Dr Sony Ramdani said, "From the beginning, PERSIS has been committed to contributing to upholding humanitarian values in Palestine. We must continue to pay attention to their basic needs, including their health."
The humanitarian donation programme for the people of Indonesia will continue to be rolled out considering the long-term needs of the adverse effects of the Israeli occupation on the holy land of Palestine. Therefore, let's continue to support the struggle of the Palestinian people through donations to the BSI account 7112222507 a.n. LAZ PERSIS or through the link s.id/palestina_merdeka
